Featuring the likes of Sway, Pound Sterling, Johnny Gunz, Aggro Santos, Big Cro, Teezy, Jaja Soze, Tenny Ten, J.Martins, G-frsh and more, ‘Twisstory’ is the brand new mixtape from UK rapper Twissman. This fifteen track mixtape is a straight banger with something for everyone on here. It’s got deeper more touching tracks as well as having club anthems, slightly harder edged street songs and some soulful touches too. The line up is immense but Twiss doesn’t get overshadowed, holding his own on every track he touches. I have always thought Twissman was a good artist, but this release shows me how much depth and how much character his music has.
Straight off a nine-year stint in a Michigan State penitentiary, Detroit rapper Ice Water Mike presents the music video for “That’s How I’m Getting Down”, his new single produced by The Closers, The Wise Guys and Joe Boom. Since age 12 IWM has been in and out of prison, where fellow inmates gave him the nickname “Ice Water” (the coldest). Mike does a weekly Vibe.com series called OneTake, where he drops anywhere from 30 to 100+ bars on the hottest Instrumental at the moment (watch here). “I’ve only been out [of jail] a couple months and this song is who I am,” Mike says of “How I’m Getting Down”. “I mentioned 4 rappers who I f**k with and relate to and envisioned sitting down with them and choppin it up about our pasts. This is my new beginning; follow my journey. Oh, and Support Your Local Convict.”
Lost Alliance are two rapper/producer heads from Wolverhampton city who dropped this brand new mixtape with UK Runnings. Hosted by Tricksta, the eighteen track excursion is a good introduction to a duo that are getting ready to drop their debut album ‘Life Cycle’ next month. The bars and flows are nice, as are the beats, but there is another element to them. Its their sincere approach to the game that can be heard on various tracks. With production from Lost Alliance, DeBate and Tricksta as well as a guest feature from fellow Wolverhampton B-Boy Big Dutty Deeze this project is well worth copping. If you like your Hip-Hop raw, stripped back and auto tune free, then this is for you. This mixtape is a release that any Hip-Hop crew would be more than happy with. Stop what it is you are doing and download this now, trust us, you need it!
Airklipz from South London has dropped two projects in that matter of a month. This work rate has to be admired. The music here is solid and delivered with style and passion. Old school influences with a new skool approach, both of these release has strong points. Parachute Life 1 & 2, offer the listener a chance to get to fully understand him as an artist and his own brand of reality rap. Out now on “Undadog Entertainment”, a label he and top producers RedIRob & Jammy Git co-founded in 2007, this is something you really need to pay attention to. These two releases are sure to get Airklipz the recognition he deserves.

“Ill Suffit D’unne Fois” (roughly translating to It Only Takes Once) is a free download album that any London Hip-Hop artist would be proud of. With stand-up solo anthems and excellent collaborations this release has it all.
The beats are top notch with Kal’s long time team of Jon Phonics, Kelakovski and Chemo all stepping up the levels here. Skillit, T.B, Stealth Artois, Kinetik, Big Cakes, Shameless all give up great guest features and on the whole it’s a really solid listen.

Here’s a great new mixtape showcasing some great Scotland based acts, I was really impressed with the production levels and the skillz of the emcees. I feel bad for doubting the Scottish Hip-Hop scene, but I have been transformed. This is adventurous and above all its original and exciting.

We managed to get a sneak preview of Yaeo’s brand new release ‘Brandy Dreams’. This is something for the trap, hard hitting music from the streets. Vocally Yaeo reminds me of Cage or El-P in his tone and voice which is something I am very fond of, and the delivery comes more on a stripped back tip with a no-nonsense approach to the delivery.
There’s a lot to talk about on this project with features from the likes of Max B and French Montana, as well as the cream of the UK underground such as Cerose PDC, Wordsmiff, Supar Novar, Ruthless and others. The beats are hard, current and relevant and throughout you get different vibes, concepts and ideas crafted by experienced artist.
One thing is apparent throughout the project and it’s that the music is real; it’s sincere, honest and above all quality hip-hop music. Yaeo has dropped a release that most emcees would be proud of. Be on the lookout for this dropping in the next few days.
